Earlier on in the season our U-14’s tasted success in the Spring League also with a victory over Ballivor on final day in Dunganny. This was a memorable victory as we overcame a very physically strong side who led at half-time on a scoreline of 1-08 to our 0-05. Incredibly in an inspiring second-half display in which our players displayed tremendous grit, determination and skill we held Ballivor scoreless in that period while scoring 8 points ourselves to  seal victory on a 0-13 to 1-08 scoreline.

 Inny Gaels U 12 Report

On Thursday 1st June our U12s headed for Pairc Tailteann to take on Oldcastle in the final of the Spring League. On our way to the final we had overcome Carnaross, Drumconrath/Meath Hill, Ballinlough and St Michaels with one defeat coming from our Final opponents Oldcastle. Coming second in the group we again faced St Michaels in our semi final and in a tough encounter we overcame St Michaels by six points. After heavy rainfall all day conditions were greasy but both teams served up an enthralling contest befitting of a final played in our County grounds.
Oldcastle started the brighter with two scores which Inny Gaels matched and then hit one to lead with ten minutes gone. Oldcastle then had their purple patch and had six unanswered scores to lead at halftime eight to three. Inny Gaels started the second half with real intent scoring three unanswered before Oldcastle pulled one back. Scores were traded at a rate of two to one to see Inny Gaels trailing by eleven to nine with ten minutes to play. Unfortunately as similar to the first half Oldcastle pulled away for the last ten minutes outscoring us by six points to three to leave the final
score at seventeen to twelve. To say we are so proud of our lads would be an understatement as every one of our panel did themselves, their families and clubs proud as they battled and threw their bodies on the line time and time again against a strong Oldcastle outfit who were unbeaten in their run through the group stages. Well done to Oldcastle with whom many of their panel are friends,
schoolmates and relations of our lads and will no doubt have more encounters with in the future. There is lots more football for our young stars this summer as the  Summer League starts up at the end of June. Our panel for the final was

1.Nathan Gibney
2.Bobby Masterson
3.Ray Kelly
4.Fergal Flynn
5.Ciarán Russell
6.Philip Carroll
7.Rory Collins
8.Christy Govern
